Ola Pono Ike Support
Each year, Hawaii Medical Association hosts an annual fundraiser and banquet, “Ola Pono Ike” (Health is Knowledge) to highlight issues in health care and raise funds for charitable organizations. Supporting Ola Pono Ike helps promote access to quality health care in Hawaii, and builds brand awareness among Hawaii's medical community. Ola Pono Ike welcomes approximately 500 guests each year, a who's who of health care, business, and community leaders. You are invited to participate with a display table & sponsorship package and as a donor to the Ola Pono Ike Silent Auction.
Ola Pono Ike Sponsorships & Display Tables: Participation in the Ola Pono Ike sponsorship program will provide sponsors significant exposure at the event and year-long exposure to HMA's unique physician market. Three sponsorship levels are available - $5k, $10k, and $25k - as well as a "supporter" level at $3k.
Advertising and marketing benefits may include:
- Display table at Ola Pono Ike, with attendance of approximately 500 guests
- Tickets for at least one table of ten to Ola Pono Ike (valued at $1500/table)
- Hawaii Medical Journal advertising
- Advertising in the HMA Directory of Physicians
- Banner ads and/or article submissions for HMA's e-newsletter
- Name and/or logo recognition on Ola Pono Ike publicity materials
- Link to sponsor's website from HMA home page
Silent Auction Donations: For each item donated for auction, donors may include business cards or other promotional materials to display next to the donated item. Donors also receive credit in the Ola Pono Ike printed program. Download a donation form
The 2008 Ola Pono Ike is Saturday, November 1st, 5:30 pm at the Hilton Hawaiian Village.
A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Hawaii Medical Foundation, which contributes to charitable, scientific, literary, and educational activities in medicine.

HMA Directory of Physicians
The HMA Directory of Physicians is a comprehensive resource for the medical community and anyone who works with them. The annual publication, at over 175 pages, lists contact information for the more than 3000 physicians in Hawaii, active and retired, with special recognition for HMA members. It also contains the following listings:
- Hospitals and health care facilities
- Pharmacies
- Physicians by specialty
- Physicians by geographical location

Medical sales representatives
Distribution of approximately 1500 includes a complimentary copy for HMA Members and purchased copies by medical/health care organizations and the public. New issues are distributed in the first quarter of each year.

Hawaii Medical Journal
The Hawaii Medical Journal is a monthly, peer-reviewed scientific journal published by the Hawaii Medical Association. The Journal's aim is to provide new, scientific information in a scholarly manner, with a focus on the unique, multicultural and environmental aspects of the Hawaiian islands and Pacific Rim region.
Dues-paying HMA members receive a free subscription; retired, resident, and student members may subscribe at a discounted rate of $20.00. Subscriptions to non-members are $30 domestic, $35 foreign. Total distribution is approximately 1,000 copies to regional, national, and international readers.
Display Advertising:
Display advertising is available from 1/8 page to full page, full pages also available in color. Space reservations due the first Friday of the preceding month, artwork due the second Friday of preceding month. HMA Members - As a benefit of membership, HMA members may place one complimentary classified ad in the HMJ per year, as space is available. Additional ads are at non-member rate. Payment is due 30 days after invoice.
Non-members - $1.50 a word with a minimum of 20 words or $30. Not commissionable. Pre-payment required.
